Earth, Lime & Light — living exhibition
We repair the future by caring for the past
Darli Birneli Space began as a derelict stone house with a wild garden. Today it is a working atelier where architects, carpenters, ceramicists, cooks and gardeners live and learn together.
We don't do fast renovation. We study the building, listen to its cracks, reuse every beam and tile, mix lime by hand, and plant what the soil asks for. Our name stands for narrowness turned into spaciousness — small rooms, vast ideas.
Lime plaster, timber frames, stone vaults, handmade tiles.
Seed library, dry garden, compost, rainwater, clay oven.
Slow is a technology.
Care is a material.
Build with what breathes
Earth, lime, wood, stone, straw, wool. Materials that regulate humidity, smell like rain and can return to soil.
Learn by hand
No slides, only trowels. 70% practice: plaster a wall, carve a joint, fire a kiln, prune an olive tree.
Live the archive
Every house is a document. We measure, photograph, interview elders and publish open guides.
